Extraction involves removing the tooth and the root in order to rid the pet of pain and infection. We often perform extractions due to severe periodontal disease, tooth resorption, when a tooth is fractured, non-vital teeth, and many other reasons. Our patients typically feel much better after their extractions and are back to eating the same or next day! Extracting teeth doesn’t limit their ability to live a normal life, but can actually help extend their life due to removing diseased teeth that can contribute to other diseases as they get older. Dental health is an important part of owning a pet.
